I do feel sorry for him. He called me Monday morning to ask if I had time for coffee. I did. On our team, all positions have been filled, but we will continue to support him where we can.”

Wolff believed that with more time and a full season, de Vries might have emerged as a strong candidate for Red Bull’s second seat. Nonetheless, he understood that the decision lay solely with AlphaTauri, and they had their own motives for making the change.
