Sometimes individuals from across the world have praised drivers for their skill while operating a subpar vehicle, but what happens when both the motorist and the vehicle are of the highest caliber? Well as usual it creates two divisions in the community, and in one of them, Helmut Marko’s opinion can be found who can’t get past Max Verstappen’s genius in the RB 19. Red Bull has been winning since last year, and as a result of their ongoing efforts, the team hasn’t lost a race this year and has even won all the sprints. So does that make Max Verstappen the Red Bull savior?

Certainly, Helmut Marko claims he is. In the process, he even discounted the person responsible for turning the car into a rocket ship. So what did Marko say? The Red Bull Taskmaster has praised Max Verstappen’s efforts as an asset to the Austrian team, according to a tweet from RBRDaily. And so, in the process, he undervalued the contribution of genius Adrian Newey, who had figured out how to read the 2022 regulations before any team had.

The outspoken Marko initially compared the RB10 by making the analogy between both the team’s drivers, he said, “It’s Verstappen. You have to compare it with Perez. If we look at the race pace , then Checo is among the top five drivers, but his weak point is qualifying.”

Although later the Austrian hailed the Red Bull’s vehicle he still believes that it is Verstappen who has made the car look blistering fast, “The RB19 is certainly the most universal and the fastest car of the moment, but it is the superiority, this obvious superiority, that comes from Max Verstappen.”

However, it is not the first time that a driver has been performing with such consistency. Drivers like Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, and Ayrton Senna redefined domination in their eras. So why there’s only one driver to come when close to Verstappen in terms of consistency? The question should rather remain who’s that one driver?

In order to clarify the situation, Jacques Villeneuve identified Fernando Alonso as the only competitor who might be compared to the Dutchman. The former F1 champion was quoted by Motorsport NextGen Auto.com as saying, “He always has extraordinary energy, he never gives up. And he makes the difference. Verstappen has always been like that, for years. He is at his best throughout the season. It’s amazing how he does it, maybe only Alonso is comparable.” [Translated via Google]
