Red Bull is going to be a team to watch out for in the upcoming season. Having already established themselves as the utmost dominant F1 team in the season of 2022, Red Bull seems to expand into a stronger talent pool for the next season.

With the Dutch Lion, Max Verstappen; the Mexican man, Sergio Perez and now, the Honey Badger, Daniel Ricciardo as their reserve driver, Red Bull holds a strong standing for years to come.

Although, one would argue that with Daniel Ricciardo‘s track experience and skills, alongside a long standing history with the home team, the Mexican, who is only a year into his two-year contract with the Austrian team, would feel the pressure to hold his seat. However, Sergio Perez disagrees.

The Red Bull man explains that ‘pressure’ is a part and parcel of this spectacular sport. He claims that he has had his fair share of pressures and knows the right ways to navigate through them.

He said, “I’m pretty relaxed. I mean, we live under a lot of pressure all the time. It doesn’t change anything from my side. I think it’s a great achievement for the team to have a driver like Daniel and he’s going to contribute a lot to our team.”

“He’s a great guy, he’s one of the guys that I get on [with] the most in the paddock, so I think it’s just great to have Daniel in the team, and from my side it doesn’t change anything,” he said, in conclusion.

On the other hand, Ricciardo admits to not knowing his next move in the F1 world.

Daniel Ricciardo confirms that his time apart from the track will show him his way forward

The Honey Badger has been admittedly overwhelmed by his driving career in the past couple of years. Weighing him down, the pressures contributed to Daniel turning into a person ‘you’d not want to be around,’ according to the Australian.

Having faced the hardships of watching your performance graph fall consistently, the Australian spiralled far too long. He is rather relieved to be taking a back seat in the season of 2024. Ricciardo is excited to be stepping into the role of a reserve driver for Red Bull.

In a recent interview, he said, “I think that’s also the beauty of next year and having that time off, it’ll give me that hard answer, you know, [of] what I truly want and also I could watch round one and I’ll be like, ‘I don’t want to sit out this whole year’, and then that will just build into something probably really positive for me over the course of ’23.”

To conclude, he said, “And then if an opportunity arises in ’24, then I feel like I’ll just be foaming at the mouth.”
