Actions speak louder than words do. Look at how Lawrence Stroll and Co. have turned the criticism into praises by leapfrogging the midfield. Esteban Ocon seemed to have done the same thing. The only difference was that the criticism was coming from within itself. Nevertheless, as the French driver silenced the Alpine CEO’s rant, he issues a reality check to the team who are on Cloud 9.
The talk around the Alpine side of the garage before the Monaco GP was all about how Laurent Rossi slandered his team publicly for having a subpar start to the season as he raised eyebrows toward Otmar Szafnauer. Nevertheless, after Pierre Gasly defended the team by suggesting that everyone is doing their best, it was his teammate’s time. Esteban Ocon came through as a savior after he converted his P3 start on the grid into a podium.
However, now that Laurent Rossi will get off Otmar Szafnauer and Co’s back, Esteban Ocon reveals the plan for the future as he explains how the team improved the car session by session and made all the right strategic calls in Monaco. The Frenchman wishes to secure many more podiums in the future as the atmosphere becomes positive about this podium. However, he added that this is not the time for the team to get complacent, as there’s still a lot of improvement that needs to be done.

Now I’m enjoying the moment, I haven’t been on the podium for a while and I hope this is the first of many others. But I think we should keep our feet on the ground at the moment.”
Esteban Ocon then suggested the upgrades that were brought to the A523 in Monaco that might’ve helped a bit in the performance. Let’s see what he had to say about the upgrades.

The Frenchman advised of some small upgrades that were brought to Monaco. However, upgrades worked perfectly and pushed the car in the right direction. The energy within the team is good and he wishes for this Monaco podium to be the shift in momentum. However, Ocon was persistent about keeping the feet on the ground, as Barcelona will be the test of whether Monaco was a one-off performance.
According to Motorsport.com, Esteban Ocon said, “We made some updates [in Monaco] that were supposed to be quite small, but everything we brought is going in the right direction today. Yes, the feelings were definitely good and I hope this is the beginning of something, but I think we need to keep our feet on the ground and see where we will be next weekend. It’s going to be a good test.”
