Music, fashion, art, and activism concentrated philanthropy makes Lewis Hamilton much more than a Formula 1 driver. The Brit has used his massive popularity like no other and puts money where his mouth is with charitable contributions. However, his former compatriot and rival, who has beaten him in the past, has beaten him in philanthropic efforts as well.
We are talking about Hamilton’s only teammate who beat him to an F1 world championship, Nico Rosberg. Rosberg retired after achieving the highest honor in the F1 ecosystem to turn his attention to the largest ecosystem. Rosberg’s efforts towards the environment got him on the cover of the Forbes 40 Under 40 edition.
Rosberg shared this achievement on Twitter and a few things he has been doing that got him the feature. He revealed in the tweet, “Last year we managed to raise €100,000 on social media for Ukrainian refugee children, invested in some promising startups such as Tesseract Energy and secjur, Rosberg X Racing came second in the Extreme E racing Championship (a series raising awareness for climate change) and took our Greentech Festival global into 4 different continents.”

Hamilton has become a household name. However, most know him for his achievements on the track and hardly associate him with all his charitable contributions. Despite that, Hamilton derives most of his joy from his charitable work and takes immense pride in it.
As quoted by GPFans, Hamilton said, “The thing I’m most proud of is Mission 44. I have seen the impact that it is starting to have, and I am so proud of this. I really feel like I’m living to do my purpose, and I feel like it’s starting to have a tangible and positive effect.”
