Oh, how the turntables for Ferrari and Red Bull in Bahrain! It was almost like deja vu, but the color changed from blue to red as Charles Leclerc fell prey to the engine woes, and Carlos Sainz almost followed suit but decided to finish the race rather than lose all points defending the podium finish against the mighty Fernando Alonso.

Charles Leclerc’s ambition of winning the world championship this year has taken a massive hit after the failure in Bahrain. The setback is even worse as Ferrari just appeared second best to Red Bull. But for the fans, it was harder to see Leclerc’s post-DNF interview after he returned to the paddock. The Monegasque appeared to be broken and hopeless, which made the enraged fans sympathize with him and the maturity that he has shown by believing in and having patience with the project that isn’t as good as everyone was made to believe.

“We definitely had the car to fight for the podium. I mean, honestly, the podium was there,” he said, as quoted by Formula 1. While many fans decided to stay in denial and considered it a blessing as the driver would evade the Bahrain curse, the reality appears to be pretty saddening for the Tifosi as Red Bull seems to have a car that will just run away with the championships.

Charles Leclerc’s maturity makes fans weep

Over the five years in Formula 1, Leclerc has seen worse times in terms of car performance. However, it must have hurt him and the Tifosi more as they suffered ridicule despite having a car good enough to challenge for the win. So, the fans only have sympathy for the driver and not the team, as it made things miserable for both Leclerc and Sainz.
