Max Verstappen deservedly won the world championship in 2021 after beating his title rival Lewis Hamilton in the last race of the season. Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali stated that the constant growth of the Red Bull driver has impressed him.
The Italian is keen to see Verstappen defending his title in 2022. He also stated that he is looking forward to Round two of the Max Verstappen-Lewis Hamilton battle in 2022.

Max Verstappen deserves the title: F1 CEO
The Dutch driver mentioned it was his dream to win one world championship in Formula One. Domenicali stated that despite all the controversy surrounding the final race, Verstappen deserved to win the title.
“Every driver is unique. Max has grown tremendously over the past few years. In 2021, he was constantly driving at the limit. So I think he deserves the title.
I’m looking forward to seeing him as the reigning champion in his new situation. He made his dream come true. I’m curious to see how it turns out in 2022.” said Stefano.
The F1 CEO also mentioned that he is very much looking forward to more on-track battles between Verstappen and Hamilton.

“Of course, I very much hope that the duel will continue. But I also hope that other drivers can intervene in the battle for the title. We currently have so many young and talented drivers, an extremely strong field.” said Domenicali.
Well, every F1 fan is eagerly waiting for the 2022 season to commence in March. It would be interesting to see if Verstappen and Hamilton will have equally performing cars again next season. If they perform on the same level as this season, we can expect more fireworks from the rivalry.
