The prankster of the grid, Daniel Ricciardo, has returned in true form. Taking the matter of entertainment into his own hands, he takes Yuki Tsunoda, a driver for AlphaTauri, for a boat ride. This ride has now worked wonders for the Aussie as the fans rally behind him to take the seat in AlphaTauri, booting the rookie from the Netherlands, Nyck de Vries.

The fans want Red Bull’s third driver to be given the seat ahead of de Vries following the rookie’s poor runs on the track. The second Dutchman in the Red Bull group has two P14 finishes and two DNFs going into the fifth round, i.e., the Miami GP. On the other hand, the returning Daniel Ricciardo has already sparked a wave amongst fans to promote him to a regular seat either at Red Bull or Alpha Tauri. All this means that one way or another, fans want Ricciardo in and de Vries out.

In this video, we can see the prankster in town pulling a classic prank on Tsunoda where Ricciardo asks him to perch on the tip of the boat to look at a shark far away. And when Tsunoda got on and was looking for the shark, Ricciardo just pushed him and jumped along with him into the water. Realizing that he has been pranked, Tsunoda plays along shouting “shark, shark“.

The fans went crazy, wanting to see Tsunoda and Ricciardo together. The glimpse of bromance and chemistry between the two sent F1 Twitter into a frenzy, rooting for more stuff between the two Red Bull-associated drivers. Sadly for the supporters of the honey badger, de Vries’s contract lasts multiple years, leaving little to no scope for the Aussie to make a return, at least this year.

Fans go crazy for the Daniel Ricciardo-Yuki Tsunoda pairing

Both Ricciardo and Tsunoda are the absolute lovelies of the paddock. Both of them have a remarkably good and comfortable vibe that just clicks for all the viewers. So, just imagining the two together left the F1 fans in awe, which just means that Nyck de Vries hasn’t been accepted by the fraternity just yet.

Much like the other Dutchman on the grid, he too will have to develop patiently before the fans start to appreciate him for who he is.

Ricciardo is reported to be working hard in the background on the simulators, and his boss Christian Horner has already promised a drive this season. Moreover, with Red Bull, you just never know what might happen to you as a driver, as we have seen in the past.

Daniel Ricciardo joining AlphaTauri, if it were to happen, doesn’t sound too bad to the fans of the driver. Given Haas was the only option for him, perhaps that was the plan he had in mind.
