Do you think it’s true that Red Bull’s atmosphere and culture change a driver’s thought process? Look at how Sebastian Vettel turned out to be humble once he left Red Bull. And how Sergio Perez has become super competitive ever since he joined Red Bull. Max Verstappen recently shared the same thought process as a Red Bull legend just 5 days after the legend criticized Michael Schumacher’s career choice. As all of this was happening, Verstappen somehow managed to praise his nemesis as well. Let’s find out how things actually panned out.

Micheal Schumacher and Fernando Alonso’s comeback stories have been the greatest ones of the 21st century. Michael Schumacher helped sow the seeds of greatness at Mercedes whereas Fernando Alonso is back bagging podium after podium consistently. However, David Coulthard on the Formula for Success podcast considered Alonso’s comeback better than Schumacher’s as during the off years, the Spaniard kept racing in different formats which kept him on his toes whereas Schumacher could not replicate the performance which he once had.

Just days after this podcast was released, Max Verstappen revealed his thoughts about racing in some other categories. He suggested how he wanted to race in other categories, praising Fernando Alonso’s excursions and his comeback. However, he suggested he is still young and will at least race in F1 for the foreseeable future. As he matched tone with Coulthard’s criticism of Schumacher not being competitive on his comeback, Verstappen explained how it’s very difficult to stay motivated if you are not winning when you make a comeback. It’s almost as if you left the sport on a high note and then later just settled for a low one.

According to formulapassion.it, Max Verstappen said, “I am still very young, but I have always said that I want to do other types of races as well, a bit like Fernando did but even when you are winning a lot, or in any case If you come back and you don’t really have a chance to win, then it becomes difficult to find the motivation.”

With Max Verstappen showing his interest to race in different categories and praising Fernando Alonso, one can only think if the dominant F1 force can go and win the triple crown, something which only Graham Hill has accomplished so far. However, Max Verstappen limited our thinking as he opened up about the prospect regarding Indy 500.

While Max Verstappen is open to racing in a variety of categories later on in his career, the Dutchman suggested that the Indy500 is a big no-no for him. Although the 25-year-old likes to watch IndyCar and praises the quality of drivers within the sport, he just does not see himself running alongside them despite having a good relationship with many of them. Looks like the Orange Army’s hopes of seeing Max Verstappen win the triple crown will remain unfulfilled only.

According to Formulapassion.it, Max Verstappen said “I like to watch the IndyCar. I think there are many great drivers, including I have a good relationship with them and I like to see them do well, but am I running in the 500 Miles? Absolutely not. I could go there and watch, but not run.”
