This optimism, unfortunately, didn’t last too long as his contract slipped away to Oscar Piastri. Moreover, his bad run of form has not done him any favors either. The Australian has been unable to land any roles for next season despite several seats being available.
A video of Ricciardo from 2020 has become even more relevant in these times. The video is of 10 things that Ricciardo can’t do without. He talks about his “little black book”. A diary/personal journal embossed with his name that he always carries with himself.
He said, “I don’t have a plan, I just pick it up and write. It can be about my career, my racing, or if I’m achieving my goals. Or it can just be life thoughts. You know sometimes you don’t want to open up to a certain individual maybe, so it can all be put in here.”
“I’ll probably do a book one day when this is all said and done and I can be very very honest and say what I really feel”, said Ricciardo.
In these tough times for the Aussie, the video really makes fans think about what it is that his black book would reveal. As of now, he probably cannot be as honest as he would like to be as might be busy trying to attain an F1 seat.
