Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021 is currently happening in its full flight in London. In line with the theme of celebrating and paying homage to Motorsport Maestros, the event showcased many vintage and iconic motorsport cars, including some of the best F1 challengers of the olden days.

In addition to showcasing the cars, the events also welcomed the legends of the world of motorsport and some current superstars. Drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Mario Andretti drove some iconic liveries.

As reported by their official Goodwood Festival website, recognized personnel involved with Formula One got a chance to go behind the wheel in the retro F1 cars.
Emerson Fittipaldi, the two-time world champion, drove Lotus 72 and Penske-llmor PC18. Then, current McLaren drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris got to fulfill their childhood dreams; they drove Ayrton Senna‘s 1990 McLaren-Honda MP4/5B. McLaren also had its Monaco Gulf Livery at the festival.

Former F1 world champion Mario Andretti had a whole segment of cars dedicated to him, such as 1974 Lola T332, Lotus 77, and Alfa Romeo 179C, to name a few. But the American motorsport legend chose his 1974 Lola T332, Lotus-Cosworth 79, and Lotus-Cosworth 49B to take for a spin at the festival.
In the new classic F1 liveries, Alex Albon drove Red Bull-Renault RB7 while Anthony Davidson and Esteban Gutierrez drove the all-conquering Mercedes W10. Marc Gene drove the stunning Ferrari SF70 whereas Jenson Button went down memory lane to drive the Williams-Cosworth FW08.

Daniel Ricciardo got emotional driving the Senna’s Mclaren
Mclaren driver Daniel Ricciardo was quite emotional when he got the chance to drive the iconic 1990 McLaren of Ayrton Senna. To mark the occasion, the Woking-based team wished luck to its newest member of the team.
In the post shared by Mclaren, the Aussie driver stated, ” As a kid, I would have done anything to stand next to this car, let alone drive it. So I’m happy to clean it,” said Daniel.
