Netflix is set to release the 5th installment of their popular F1 docuseries Drive to Survive on 24th February. Before the release, they are leaving no stone unturned to build the hype around the new season. Yesterday they released the final trailer, which gave huge insights into what the audience was in for. Now, they disclosed the names of the episodes and some of them are downright over the top. The one focussing on Daniel Ricciardo in particular caught not just fans by surprise, but the Honey Badger himself as well.
The brand-new season will have something that was missing in the last few years. Max Verstappen is returning to the show after a 3-year hiatus. He gave earlier seasons a miss as he felt the creators manufactured drama where there was none. He even alleged that they tried to portray some of the drivers as rivals, even when they weren’t.

It is no secret that Netflix has given F1’s growing popularity a big boost with DTS. One of the drivers who has become a fan favorite since its advent is Ricciardo. The Australian driver acknowledged the streaming giant’s role in lifting the sport’s stature in America recently in an interview with Stephen Colbert.
He will make a comeback in the soon-to-be-released season. However, things might not be as hunky-dory this time around. That is because of the fact that he had a miserable 2022 season, which forced him to take a one-year hiatus from regular action. Now the title of the episode centered around him seems to be taking a dig at his situation. In the list of episode names that Netflix released recently, the one with Daniel’s picture read, “Nice Guys Finish Last”. In the comments of the Instagram post that F1 put out, Ricciardo replied, “At least I’m a good bloke [laughing emoji]”.
Have a look at fans’ reactions to the episode title on Twitter.

One user took the title on a lighter note, though.

Ricciardo once hilariously called Netflix “a real bunch of c*nts” in an earlier season. One fan thought this was Netflix’s payback for that comment.
