The much-talked-about Daniel Ricciardo is recently in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Premature termination of his contract and replacement with a rookie is painful, but it presents Ricciardo with a unique opportunity.

An opportunity to showcase his business acumen as he negotiates his contract termination compensation. We feel the Australian will be excellent in the negotiations as he prides himself as an entrepreneur. Proof of that lies in his ventures outside the sport, notably his collaboration with Australian wine producer St. Hugo.

Ricciardo has partnered with St. Hugo to make his own Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The collaboration is called DR3, and the wine that debuted in Australia in 2021 quickly sold out. However, an interview revealed the perks of being Ricciardo’s colleague.

The wine connoisseur, Ricciardo, revealed, “A few days ago I gave Valtteri Bottas a bottle of the year one, I gave it to him after the driver’s meeting on Friday—he’s massively into wine and Australian wine, too—and asked him to let me know what he thought. I saw him on Saturday and he said “Oh, it’s really good.” And I was like, “You had it last night?!”

“I’ve given a bottle to Pierre Gasly as well and to a few team managers as well other teams. So, yeah, there is a little bit of sharing wine together going on,” added Ricciardo.
