Ferrari’s miseries were summed up during the season finale at Abu Dhabi. The Maranello based team failed to lead even a single lap this season. Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel both failed to score enough points as they finished in P13 and P14, respectively.
Ferrari had their worst season since 1980 and Charles Leclerc admitted that it was a disappointing and tough season. However, from a personal performance point of view, he was pleased with this season.
Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo had a few words to say about Leclerc. In a podcast, Daniel Ricciardo was making his picks for top drivers for the season and shared a particular story in the process.

The story was about Marcus Ericsson and Leclerc from when they were driving for Sauber together. Ricciardo said, “He gave a line which is the hardest line to deliver as a racecar driver.”
“It’s like, ‘Yeah sometimes I don’t know how he does it’. That’s when you know you’ve had a pretty good lap and your teammate is like, how is he three-tenths faster? Where did that come from?” Ricciardo summarized his conversation with Marcus.
He further added, “Charles is very quick.”
Charles Leclerc reviews his 2020 season
Leclerc was happy with his personal performance and the performance of the car. However, it was not an easy season for anyone in Ferrari. “At the end of the year, I wish I could finish the season on a high. But it didn’t happen,” he said after the last race.

“It’s a shame to finish the season like this. It’s been a very, very difficult season, but I’m looking forward to next year to see if we did some steps in the right direction… I hope we will have a better car next year,” he further added.
Ferrari‘s publicized loss of a power unit has been the primary cause of their problems. In a space of a season, they went from taking regular podiums to struggling to make it to Qualifying 3.

Hopefully, Ferrari can find their best form and start performing in tune with their legacy next season.
