Daniel Ricciardo has joined his third team in his Formula One career. The Australian left Renault at the end of last season to team up with McLaren for 2021. In his first race for the Woking-based outfit, Ricciardo came seventh and brought home six points for the team. He hopes to improve and let the talking be on the track.
Ricciardo hopes the next race at Imola for the Italian Grand Prix can be a better one and hopes to make the most out of the car and take the team to the next level. His teammate Lando Norris had an impressive time around the track as he crossed the line in fourth place.

Daniel Ricciardo will let his driving do the talking
On his YouTube channel, the Australian opened up about his time with McLaren and how he is adapting to it.
“I have got to spend already a chunk of time with the team and you know not only on the simulator but just not on the simulator but getting to know the team, how they operate.”
“And I am really impressed so far, but you know with this sport you got to do the talking on the track, its all well in good to say you have this and this but at the end of the day the results will show. Me, my team have put the work in to get to Bahrain as prepared as we can be. So I am really excited to get going.”
Ricciardo talks about his relationship with Max during his Red Bull stint
In an interview with SquareMile, Daniel said, “I think it’s easier now for me and Max to be friends for two reasons. I think one is that obviously we’re not in direct competition we’re not trying to basically end each other’s careers!”

He added, “The second point is that I think – I mean, of course, I won races with him as a teammate and got pole position so I think he always knew I was quick and respected me but now, since I’ve left, the other drivers have come through and him having different teammates.
“I think it’s probably increased his respect for me even more. I mean we never hated each other, we just wanted to end each other’s careers! It’s as simple as that,” Ricciardo concluded.
