Daniel Ricciardo staying on the grid, albeit in a different capacity, was one of the greatest news stories and performances that Red Bull has ever delivered. His continued participation in Formula 1 as the Milton Keynes reserve driver was welcomed by all, as it means that we can now see more of his charm in the paddock. One such occurrence, which occurred during the launch of Red Bull‘s 2023 challenger, can only be a good omen.

After the launch, the Honey Badger was up for a quick round of rapid-fire, during which he gave the most Daniel Ricciardo answers ever as he assigned drivers’ names to the prompt given. He was asked several questions, but one, in particular, made everyone laugh. 

When asked in a reel posted by ESPN on Instagram ‘which of the drivers would become a social media influencer’, he answered, “George Russell. He’s already got it dialed. Topless. He loves it,” referencing the Mercedes’s driver’s recently posted photos from an off-season vacation.

The friendship between the two drivers is said to be one of the most underrated on the grid. Recalling one of the instances when George wore Danny’s merch, the former McLaren driver was quoted The Race, saying, “He texted me one Friday night, and it was a picture of his girlfriend on the couch, looking up the Ric 3 shop.”

“He’s like, ‘mate, what’s going on?’ And I was like, ‘tell me what she likes, and I’ll send her a few things’. So we sent a few, and I guess one of one of them actually fits George! So he decided to wear it today. So it’s good. He is a good lad.”

It’s clear that Danny is in a good, refreshing mood, working to charge himself up as he reevaluates his career. However, his coming back and rocking the grid is not something that anyone would ever mind.

Lando Norris stays on Daniel Ricciardo’s mind

People often say that you can’t have it all. And it seems true in the case of Daniel Ricciardo’s bromances, because now that we have seen the return of Maxiel, we would be missing out on the chemistry between Lando Norris and Ricciardo.

But when asked during rapid fire, “Who is most likely to leave their passport at home?” and “Most likely to become a part-time DJ?,” the Australian driver named his British teammate Lando Norris as a candidate for both jobs. Clearly, Norris is the first person that comes to his mind, as his comments pointed out.
