Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris might have had their differences on the racetrack, but they have not let that hamper their friendship. The duo has given F1 fans some major friendship goals with their bromance over the past couple of years. In one such incident, Daniel Ricciardo reveals how his teammate owes him a grand debt of $53.

Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo were tipped to be one of the most anticipated driving pairs on the grid. Sadly for McLaren and the honey badger, it has not worked out according to either side. McLaren and the Aussie terminated their contract on a mutual basis, which made space in the team for Daniel’s compatriot, Oscar Piastri.

The Honey Badger’s McLaren journey was full of difficulties and struggle, but it did have a few bright moments with the win in Monza being the most notable one. Moreover, his relationship with Norris has given McLaren fans plenty of reasons to cherish the two drivers. In a similar video of the two, Daniel hilariously jokes that the Briton owes him $53.

When asked which of the two is more likely to pay for the bills, Daniel points at himself to which Lando replied“No”. Daniel then justifies himself by saying, “Come on, I pay for more when we are together. I keep track. You owe me $53.”

Daniel will be looking to part ways with McLaren on a happy note by contributing to their fight for P4 in the constructor’s table against his former team Alpine (previously, Renault).

Daniel Ricciardo is close to agreeing to a reserve driver deal but not with Mercedes

After terminating his contract with McLaren, the Aussie driver has failed to secure a seat to drive in F1 next year. However, Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz claimed that he is close to securing a reserve driver role with a constructor. Interestingly, it is not expected to be with Mercedes, who were heavily rumored to sign the Honey badger.

Ted Kravitz said, “I’ve got some good news for Daniel Ricciardo fans. He might not have a race drive for next year, but I do understand he has closed out a reserve driver drive next year.”

Furthermore, he added, “So he told us on Thursday, he will be around about the F1 paddock next year. We thought Mercedes, because they now have a vacancy given that Nyck de Vries, their reserve driver, is going to AlphaTauri. I’m told it’s not Mercedes. So that only leaves Red Bull, the (only two) teams who have a reserve driver on hand at every race.”

However, Daniel has since gone on to deny the rumors and claimed he is still talking with other teams. He said nothing was confirmed yet, and that he hadn’t penned his signature on any contract.
