The internet is still trying to accept the fact that, as per reports, Red Bull Racing breached the 2021 cost cap. The statement regarding this comes a day after Max Verstappen picked up his second F1 championship in Japan. Amid all this, Rich Energy, the former Controversial Sponsor of Haas F1, made a defining statement regarding last year’s title, which was Verstappen’s first.

Rich Energy, who were partners to the Haas F1 team once, battles for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes over Max Verstappen and Red Bull for the 2021 F1 championship. They believe that Hamilton and his team deserve the 2021 championship.

By sharing a video of Ross Brawn, managing director of F1, where he talks about the punishment for breaching the cost cap, Rich Energy tweeted, “An easy decision for the FIA now. It is imperative that the integrity of the great sport of Formula One is maintained.”

Rich Energy, who split with Haas after a reported $38.7 million debacle in 2019, had been a partner to American F1 team Haas for a couple of seasons. However, according to Gene Haas, owner of the Haas F1 team, the amount was around $60 million that the energy drink company had to pay the F1 team.

Lewis Hamilton speaks up on the Red Bull breach and 2021 title

Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton opened up on the 2021 Red Bull Racing’s budget cap breach. During an interview with Sky Sports F1, the Briton shared how Red Bull were bringing in new upgrades every other week and were in an advantageous position over them.

Hamilton, talking about this, conveyed, “Last year in Silverstone we had our last upgrade and fortunately it was great and we could fight with it, but then we could see Red Bull every other weekend bringing upgrades and I think at least four more from that point.”

If we had spent three hundred thousand [$300,000] on a new floor or adapted wing, it would’ve changed the outcome of the championship naturally because we would’ve been in better competition in the next race with new added ons,” the seven-time world champion further stated.

As for Red Bull, the Austrian team stated that they were surprised and disappointed with the FIA findings and urged for a review of the same. As far as FIA is concerned, they are still to figure out and announce a penalty for the cost cap breach.
