Williams’ team principal Jost Capito during the US Grand Prix announced they will sign F2 driver Logan Sargeant in 2023, provided he secures enough points to earn a Super License. Christian Horner takes a dig at Lewis Hamilton and Brad Pitt
Nicholas Latifi’s 3 years with Williams have been a disappointing stint. Jost Capito decided to part ways with the Canadian driver at the end of the season and look outside of the current F1 drivers to fill the empty cockpit. Logan Sargeant, who was already rumored to be getting the seat, made his FP1 debut at COTA on Friday. He is currently sitting in 3rd place in the F2 drivers’ standings and if he is to earn his Super License, he will have to finish the season in the top 3 at the end of the season.
Taking a shot at Brad Pitt, Christian Horner during the FIA press conference said, “I think we need an American driver. Not only just a driver, we need a successful driver in there competing as well. It shouldn’t just be Brad Pitt.”
Horner appreciated Williams’ move to bring in an American driver in F1. “I think it’s great news. Congrats to Jost and the Williams team on hopefully achieving that – obviously still subject to the Super Licence – which I think is another topic that we perhaps need to have a look at.”

He is producing a project of his own which is themed around F1. Apple TV has reportedly bought the rights to the film for $140 million. Hamilton roped in Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski to work on the movie.
