Red Bull had everything going perfectly for it until a female employee accused Christian Horner of “inappropriate behavior.” While this started to make headlines, many started questioning Horner’s presence at the Red Bull RB20 car launch. With some figures from the F1 community saying that he might skip the reveal, Horner decided to stand strong against the tide.

While many expected him to be kept away from the public and media, Red Bull has decided to let Horner lead the team into the start of the 2024 season. After doubts about the 50-year-old attending the car launch were clear, the next thing on spectators’ minds was, will he be at the paddocks in Bahrain? To this, Horner wasted no time to say, “I will be in Bahrain. I have a supportive family and a supportive wife. I also feel this support from the stakeholders of the industry we are in.”

Now that there is more insight into the allegations, the fact that Horner is not involved in something scandalous has made Red Bull let him lead the team.

What did the RB20 launch event entail?

Well for starters, Christian Horner was there and this shows that Red Bull has not found him guilty of anything as of yet. Having him at the forefront of the car launch amidst a controversy, was a brave move by Red Bull, but not as brave as their new design.

After the team principal, lead engineer, and David Coulthard spoke about Red Bull’s history and discussed the car, the final moment arrived when the RB20 was unveiled. And it was shocking, to say the least. The car looks stunning with many bold choices made in terms of the design of the car. However, the livery remains the same as the RB19.

One of the most standout features was the fact that Adrian Newey decided to experiment with a design without side pods. Just like Mercedes, Red Bull is onto something, but this raises a question of the air intake for the car.

Both the drivers came forth to talk about their views on the car and Sergio Perez looks pretty confident in the machine that Red Bull is giving them. There are hopes for the team to dominate another year with the RB20, but as Max Verstappen said, “I guess time will tell,” the fandom will have to wait and see how the car performs.
