Red Bull and Mercedes have been pushing each other to the limit, both on & off the track this season. At the Qatar Grand Prix, there were some tests done on the rear wing of the Mercedes. Now the Formula One paddock is in Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian GP, and team principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner believes the Silver Arrows are slower because of the new rules.

The Raging Bulls are fighting an intense title fight with the Brackley-based squad. However, with Horner stating that Mercedes are slower this weekend, the Milton-Keynes squad will do their best to claim a victory over their arch-rivals.

After running some tests on the rear wings of the Mercedes, the Red Bull boss feels that the Silver Arrows haven’t gotten the pace this weekend after the first two practice sessions on Friday.

As quoted by Sky Sports, Horner said, “After the new test was introduced in Qatar I think that we have seen convergence on speed. We have seen very similar speeds again here today. So, that is encouraging and we hope that remains the case this weekend and next weekend.”

The fight for the championship keeps getting intense

This season has witnessed an exciting title fight between Red Bull and Mercedes. Both teams are pushing each other every weekend to have the upper hand in the championship fight.

There are just two races remaining till the end of the season. The Wolff-led team has 546.5 points, while Horner’s team has 541.5 points under the belt so far this season. The gap between the two title contenders is just eight points, and with every race, the fight for the championship keeps getting exciting.
