Christain Horner and Red Bull are going through a tough time pre-season with allegations against the team boss. Accusations about Horner behaving inappropriately with a female team member have prompted Red Bull to investigate the same. Although it was thought that the investigation would be concluded soon, it looks like it’s going to be a long early season for Red Bull.

After one sitting with Horner, the investigator announced that the matter would not be settled soon. That being said, many media outlets started to share their thoughts on the situation with Red Bull. Some went forward to say Horner should not make an appearance during the Red Bull car launch. While the same was said by other entities, Giedo van der Garde was scrutinized for his opinion.

Former F1 driver, Giedo van der Garde has transitioned from the track to start his podcast called DRS. During the podcast, he covered the situation with Horner and Red Bull and made a statement that disappointed many fans. He had stated, “Horner is now being screened internally by Red Bull. Believe me, he won’t be there during that presentation next week.”

This statement didn’t sit right with many of his listeners and to clarify, presenter Joost Hofman said, “We often say that it is an informal podcast with some humor, in which we discuss not too heavy topics. Then there will be a charged topic with Horner and then we may say certain things too early.” He continued, “People were really angry, and rightly so.”

Giedo van der Garde, while partially agreeing, responded, “Last week, we may have concluded a little too quickly what was going to happen.” After mentioning that people should be allowed to have an opinion, he said, But perhaps we have been a bit too early and too premature left and right about what is going to happen.”

Giedo van der Garde added, “I still think it will be a very difficult story for him. If we look at what he has achieved at Red Bull, I think he has been one of the most successful team bosses ever. But it is a very difficult period for him now. We still have to wait a while to see what will come out of (the investigation), but I think it will be very difficult for him.”

While van der Garde suggested Horner’s absence at the launch, Eddie Jordan just made a similar prediction. But that’s where things differ. While on one hand, van der Garde said things with confidence, Jordan tried to speculate about the situation.

Just like Giedo van der Garde, Eddie Jordan also hosts a podcast where he discusses everything F1. After hearing about the Horner incident, Jordan stated that Christian is innocent until proven guilty of the accusations. Although the details of the accusations have been kept away from the world, Jordan hoped that things would get settled before the car launch.

After mentioning that, Eddie Jordan predicted, “I do not think that Christian could be at the launch of the car.” Explaining further, he said, “Bearing in mind what the launch is for, which is to show off the car, show off Red Bull in its glory and for the future hopes for the 24 season.”
