A few weeks ago, the world premiere of the James Bond film, No Time To Die, dropped. A number of celebrities and dignitaries attended the premiere, and among them was Red Bull team boss, Christian Horner. He and his wife were spotted on the red carpet in London.
Over there, Horner was asked if he was reminded of his rival, Toto Wolff, whenever the Bond villain showed up. Rather than rise to the jibe, he opted to take the diplomatic route. He quipped, “It was good to see Formula One well represented that night.”
Clearly, the Red Bull team principal did not want to get embroiled in another war of words. This is referencing the massive rivalry between Mercedes and Red Bull. While Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen duelled on the track, the team bosses have hit out at each other on many occasions.

Obviously, both team principals are trying their level best to get in each others’ heads, hoping to gain a psychological advantage over their rival. In the same interview, Horner spoke about the infamous Monza crash and the media backlash. Some claimed that Verstappen crashed into Hamilton on purpose, something that the Red Bull boss vehemently denied.
Now, the drivers and teams will be focused on this weekend’s race at the Circuit of the Americas. With just six races left in the championship, the competition is heating up. Hamilton is gunning for a record-breaking eight F1 championships, while Verstappen wants his first title. Toto Wolff and Christian Horner are determined to let their respective wards mount a stern challenge.

Unfortunately, races like Silverstone and Monza proved that sometimes they could take it too far. Hopefully, this weekend’s race at Austin, Texas, will be much cleaner and they will not try anything silly. The last thing that either of them need is a DNF or a non-points finish.
