We nurture our creativity when we release our inner child. Let it run and roam free. It will take you on a brighter journey. Fernando Alonso’s former boss has called him a child. The former boss has mentioned 3 qualities of the Aston Martin driver which resonate with that of a child and is excited about the computed risk taken by the Spaniard.
Fernando Alonso decided to sign with Aston Martin after Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement. It was speculated that this would be another one of Alonso’s dreaded team moves. However, this is turning out to be the best one that Alonso has made in the last decade. Aston Martin is second in the Constructors Championship while the Spaniard is 3rd in the Drivers Championship. Alonso has also managed to finish the first couple of races on the podium.
Many consider the Spaniard lucky as Aston Martin brought their A-game this year. Regardless, Giancarlo Minardi considers Alonso’s move to be a calculated risk. The two-time world champion saw the future Aston Martin plans and was motivated to join them. Minardi called the 41-year-old a child, comparing Alonso’s vitality, spirit, and physical dexterity to that of a child. He believes Alonso is a great champion and has won less compared to his characteristics.

According to Eurosport.es, Giancarlo Minardi said “I can only tell you that the last time I talked to him a few months ago I met a child, and I emphasize that despite being 41 years old, almost 42. He had a vitality, a spirit and a physical dexterity like a child,” Further adding “He is undoubtedly a great champion. He earned little compared to his characteristics. The real champions have something more than the others. I saw him motivated, aware that he had made a decision, for many a risk, but for him the right one.”

It is yet to be seen whether Alonso’s characteristics, combined with the risky move to Aston Martin, will lead to anything fruitful. Fernando can hope for the championship only if Aston Martin can develop the car faster than Red Bull.

Aston Martin has more aerodynamic testing time than Red Bull. That added to the fact that the AMR-23 is a 95% new car whereas the Red Bull is an evolution of last year’s car means Aston Martin is expected to find a lot more time than the other. However, Red Bull’s dominant pace advantage of 1-1.2 per lap is difficult to beat over a season. Minardi believes Alonso and Aston Martin will have great success this year but will not be able to beat Red Bull.
According to Eurosport.es, Giancarlo Minardi said, “I think Aston Martin and Fernando will get a great satisfaction. They have the misfortune of having an almost unbeatable Red Bull in front of them right now.”
