The Jeddah Cornice Circuit is expected to be the fastest F1 street circuit in the world. The average speed around the circuit is set to be 252 km/h, second only to Monza. Moreover, the overriding review from the two practice sessions pretty much aligns with the expectations from the track.

However, let’s have a look at the highest speed that drivers have recorded this season. This might come as a surprise to many, but the two championship contenders are not in the top-5 of this list so far in the season.
Fastest drivers in 2021 F1 season so far
We are nearing the end-phase of this championship and drivers with the highest speed this season are:
- Sebastian Vettel: The four-time world champion has recorded the highest speed of 362.0 Km/h in the Italian GP. The German currently sits at 12th position in the drivers’ standing before the start of the Jeddah Grand Prix.
- Lance Stroll: Another Aston Martin driver who had a good weekend in Qatar last week has recorded the highest speed of 360.8 km/h in the Mexican GP. He is currently 13th in the drivers’ standing right behind his German teammate.
- Lando Norris: The Mclaren driver has had an impressive 2021 season so far. He sits third in this list recording a speed of 349.2 km/h in the French GP. The young Brit is currently “best of the rest” in the drivers’ standing at 5th place with 153 points under his belt.
- Kimi Raikkonen: Former world champion and Alfa Romeo driver recorded a mammoth speed of 345.6 km/h in Baku during the Azerbaijan GP. The Finn is retiring from the sport at the end of this season with 21-Grand Prix wins in his career.
- Pierre Gasly: The talented and gritty racer with a lot of promise has recorded the highest speed of 344.6 km/h in the Sau Paulo Grand Prix. He is currently 9th in the 2021 F1 drivers’ standings.
