The grid is set for round 10 of the F1 2022 championship at Silverstone. The pole position is acquired by the Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, followed by Max Verstappen in second and Charles Leclerc in third. The British GP qualifying was a thrilling session as it experienced rain showers throughout the three segments. This made the conditions really tricky for each driver who struggled to keep the car on the racing line. Thus, bringing out the yellow caution flags.

Charles Leclerc on his final push lap in Q3, made a mistake that saw his F1-75 spin on the track. This brought out the yellow flags and spoiled the push lap of his rival, Max Verstappen, behind him. The Red Bull driver had to lift off the throttle in respect of the caution flags waved. As a result, he was unable to challenge for pole position in his final flying lap.

In the post Qualifying interview, the interviewer asked Max, “It was the middle sector that seemed to cost you on that final lap, can you talk us through that?”.
In reply, the Dutchman answered, “I had a yellow flag”. He later followed it up with a laugh and a snarky look at his championship rival, Leclerc, who brought out the yellow flags and robbed Max of his chances of getting pole.

The luck was not on Verstappen’s side in the Qualifying session. In his initial push lap in the Q3 session, he spun his RB-18 while exiting the Stowe corner, which cost him 2 seconds of lap time. However, despite his mistake, he still managed to put the second-fastest time on board and will be starting the race on the front row.
Max Verstappen in Quest Of Redemption At The British GP
The 2021 race in the United Kingdom did not pan out well for the reigning world champion. Verstappen was engaged in a year-long title fight with Lewis Hamilton. The two championship protagonists collided at the Copse corner last year, which resulted in Verstappen crashing into the barriers.

The Red Bull driver sustained an impact of 51G but thankfully walked away from the incident unscathed. Returning to Silverstone in 2022, the memories of the crash must be fresh in his mind. Thereby, Verstappen will be looking to erase the bad memories of this track with a victory this weekend.
Nevertheless, the local fans have not forgotten the controversies of the previous season. The British fans have shown signs of disapproval repeatedly throughout the Grand Prix weekend. Yet, the Red Bull driver has his eyes on the trophy and is in top form.
