Disappointment has struck the Mercedes squad at the 2024 Dutch GP Qualifiers. Wasn’t this supposed to be a continuation of their pre-summer break success arc? It looks like the streak will be breaking in Zandvoort on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton couldn’t clear the second round of qualifying in the Netherlands. He will start tomorrow’s race from P12, behind Carlos Sainz. Meanwhile, George Russell has made a massive comeback and will start from P4. However, can he beat the top three for the podium?
Lewis Hamilton has been the most upset since his greatest disappointment in Abu Dhabi, in 2021. The 7x champ seemed considerably down post-session, despite a great car for the weekend, Lewis failed to do wonders. He was roaring in the first round, setting the fastest lap until Charles Leclerc and others dethroned him to P6. However, recovery became impossible in Q2, after an incident with Sergio Perez. On the other hand, Ferrari‘s Golden Boy, Leclerc, will start tomorrow’s race from P6. He too is doubtful about winning the Dutch GP; just like his would-be teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Charles thinks it would be a miracle if he could surpass Perez and others until he’s tailing behind Lando Norris. However, we’re talking about F1 and nothing is impossible in this sport. We might also see Hamilton driving up from P12. He has done this before, so it wouldn’t surprise the fans. Although the prospects are low, but never zero!

But, the impending loom of steward’s judgment awaits the Formula 1 legend. Hamilton has been summoned for allegedly blocking Sergio Perez’s path while he was trying to push to clear the rounds. Perez seemed to be flying today, after all, he has an added reason to prove himself. However, this odd clash with Lewis could cause trouble for the Mercedes side.

The FIA stewards have summoned Lewis Hamilton for allegedly impeding Sergio Perez in the Qualifiers
“It just went downhill like a domino effect. From the moment with Checo…” said a devastated Lewis to the media at the end of the session. The champ is finding it hard to believe that his Dutch GP campaign met such a sad fate. But, “it is what it is,” shared Hamilton. Meanwhile, a new trouble has knocked at Mercedes’ door. Lewis Hamilton has to appear before the Dutch Grand Prix stewards after a supposed impending incident between him and Sergio Perez.
How worse could this weekend get for the Ferrari-bound star? While Hamilton was trying to get out of the way of a fast-approaching Perez, he couldn’t give enough space to the Mexican driver. This upset Perez, who was in his flying lap- pushing his way through to the chequered flag. The Red Bull driver immediately radioed his new race engineer, Richard Wood, to complain about the incident. “What the f*** is this idiot doing?!” he said. Meanwhile, Lewis resorted to Bono, saying: “I was well out of his way.” And while Lewis was sifted out of Q2, Perez got his chance in Q3.
