Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have been dominating the current Formula 1 season. Charles sits on top of the driver’s championship table after amassing an incredible 71 out of the possible 78 points, helping Ferrari top the constructors’ championship table as well. He is in a very different position after a couple of slow seasons at Ferrari.

Charles has finally got a championship-winning car after several rounds of development with Ferrari. He also got the team their first grand slam since 2010.

Charles Leclerc is in an unusual environment but not for the first time

Leclerc has won two out of the first three races. The Ferrari man has captured two out of the three pole positions. All three fastest laps and the extra points have gone to Charles as well. This is an incredible feat for Charles and Ferrari as they lead the respective championship tables. This is an unusual setup for Leclerc in Formula 1, but he has been in this situation in the past.

Speaking with Motorsport-total Charles mentioned, “I have found myself in such a situation in the junior series before, but it means a lot to me to be able to do the same in Formula 1. Especially after the last few years and especially with a team like Ferrari. It feels incredible!”.

Leclerc was the overall leader in Gp3 in 2016 and in F2 in 2017. But Formula 1 is in a league of its own. And he understands the importance of being the overall leader at this level.

But we cannot credit this incredible start to Charles alone. The Ferrari team has made an incredible machine in F1-75. And both Charles and Carlos Sainz have showcased the excellence of this 2022 challenger. Sainz has not made the most of it. But this has helped Ferrari sit on top of the constructors’ championship table, so far.

Ferrari is as confident as ever

In contrast to the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Ferrari is here to win this time around. They started work on the F1-75 mid-2021 season. And now they’re reaping the rewards. “Now I know: I have a car under me that can win, I don’t That’s possible with this car and I totally crazy to gain a position or two. I know: That’s possible with this car and I just have to implement it,” says Leclerc.

Both Leclerc and Sainz recognize the potential of the car and need to make the most of it. The Ferrari camp is motivated and extremely confident with their current situation. As mentioned by Charles, they just need to implement it!

We might witness a substantial Ferrari championship run for the first time in a decade. And they might end Red Bull and Mercedes dominance. Let’s hope they can keep the pressure on and see it to the end.
