Known for its diverse culture and ancient history, this country has always fascinated people from all over the world. However, the situation in Turkey is dire now. After one of the worst earthquakes in recent times hit the country and neighboring Syria, a part of the beautiful country has turned into rubble now. As the world mourns the death and does its best to help the victims, Charles Leclerc has come forward as well. The Ferrari driver reacted to gather his millions of followers to help a Tifosi father and his daughter stuck in Turkey.

Leclerc, who has over 2.4 million followers on Twitter, recently took to the micro-blogging site to share his disheartening reactions to the tragic incident. Reacting with sad emoji, the former Alfa Romeo driver acknowledged the dire situation the Tifosi were in. However, there wasn’t any financial aid reported from the F1 driver or Ferrari’s side on this.

Leclerc reacted to a tweet from Ferrari Turkiye. The tweet had details about the victim. It had a caption, “We lost our father and daughter, Tifosi, who live in Iskenderun. Onur and Eftalya Kurt. May God have mercy on them, may their place be heaven. They were buried under the rubble and died.” [Translated from Turkish using Google]

Not only Charles Leclerc but also the motorsport world shared their grief and condolences for the victims in Turkey. From Mercedes Benz to Lewis Hamilton, and Mick Schumacher, the top F1 and motorsport entities voiced their support for the cause.

The motorsport community stands with Turkey and Syria

The devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria destroyed city after city, while people died under the rubble. From the world health organization to Red Cross and Red Crescent, organizations from all over the world have been trying their best to help the countries with monetary, food, and medical supplies. The motorsport community didn’t stay back either in these efforts.

Mercedes Benz, the principal owner of the Mercedes AMG F1 team has announced to donate one million euros [$1.07 million] to the German Red Cross for the victims. They have also organized an “additional employee donation campaign, where colleagues can take part in the emergency aid for the disaster areas in an unbureaucratic manner.”

Sharing this information, the official Twitter handle of Mercedes Benz tweeted, ”We are donating one million euros to @roteskreuz_de for the people in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the severe earthquakes. The donation will be used for local humanitarian aid in order to quickly provide the bare essentials.”
