In the past season, the Ferrari have not been as competitive as they are supposed to be. The SF1000 has been a massive disappointment in terms of pace, with both drivers barely scrounging podiums.

In 2019, the car was still reasonably competitive. This way, Charles Leclerc was able to make Lewis Hamilton sweat on a few occasions. Even Sebastian Vettel managed to sneak in a win.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and there were development restrictions over the winter. With businesses brought to a standstill, teams needed to save costs, and Ferrari got the worst of it.
