Charles Leclerc has been into fashion and art, just like Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari racer, whose model-like features have garnered a fanbase for him on different social media platforms, has expressed his love for designing outfits. Having played the role of an Armani ambassador, the Monegasque is not new to the couture world. He also walked the ramp for Ferrari’s in-house spring/summer collection last year. Now, Leclerc wants to get into the business of fashion himself.
The first ‘rebellious’ Formula 1 driver to venture into the fashion world was Lewis Hamilton. The 39-year-old has a long-lasting friendship with American mogul Tommy Hilfiger. The two released a collaboration at the New York Fashion Week in 2018. Only a couple of months ago, Lewis even appeared at the Met Gala, one of the biggest nights in the fashion world, partying with designer Stella McCartney and some famous models. Following the Silver Arrows racer’s footsteps, Charles Leclerc wants to create his own designer clothes. Currently third on the World Championship table, the Monegasque has spoken about his love for fashion in a recent interview.
While he has already stolen the hearts of the Tifosi with his performance on the racetrack, Charles Leclerc wants to dominate the runway too. He spoke to Esquire about his fashion design aspirations, explaining, “I like to design clothes. I would like to produce my own collection one day. With Ferrari Style on board, let’s see, maybe it will happen in the future. I use style a lot, to try and show in a subtle way how I feel from day to day. It’s a perfect way to express yourself without speaking.” By ‘Ferrari Style’, the 26-year-old was referring to the in-house fashion brand of Scuderia Ferrari, with whom Leclerc has a multi-year contract right now.

The Esquire interviewer, Natasha Bird, even mentioned that Charles Leclerc has confessed to making sketches for his clothing line already. Moreover, the Monegasque is currently dating Alexandra Saint Mleux, who is an art history student as well as a modeling enthusiast. Perhaps he can take pointers from her about the sketches that he is evidently working on. Or better yet, Leclerc might create a collaboration with fellow F1 racer Lewis Hamilton since he is an established designer already. And once Charles’ clothing line gets out in the public, it might just become as famous as his other venture outside of the F1 world – making music.

Given the success Charles has enjoyed with his music tracks, one would think he is a trained pianist. However, he has revealed he taught himself how to play the piano. Speaking on his love for music, Charles revealed, “My life has always been about speed since I was four [when] I started racing. The best way I found to slow down and disconnect from the racing world was music.” And now, it seems, the 6-time F1 Grand Prix winner wants to find more respite from racing through fashion. That is, perhaps, why he has revealed his dreams about becoming a designer.

Speaking of Charles Leclerc’s dreams, it is an undoubted fact that he wants to get back to #2 on the Championship Standings in F1. A few weeks ago, Lando Norris usurped the Monegasque from his place after attaining second place at the Spanish GP. However, only 6 points separate the two racers, and it might be possible for Leclerc to climb up the rankings if he delivers a perfect performance at the upcoming British GP. Please comment below if you think the Monegasque is up for the challenge.
