The most successful team to ever exist in F1 is right back on track. It might be too early to give them a perfect certificate, but Ferrari is exactly where they always loved to be, at the top of the table. With the latest win in Australia, Charles Leclerc put another feather in the Ferrari cap.

The Italian team managed to conquer Albert Park after three years (2019 and two off years in 2020 and 2021) This has been the 13th win for the team at the Australian GP. The last time they won was back in 2018, when Sebastian Vettel picked up the winner’s trophy. Now this time, Leclerc repeated the feat with the same intensity, dominance, and power.

This win means so much for the Maranello-based team. With the 2019 Grand Prix going to Mercedes, Ferrari lost the chance to make it three in a row at Albert Park. Vettel won it in 2017 and again in 2018. Despite Valtteri winning the race in 2019, Charles has brought back the Ferrari dominance in Australia in 2022.

Why do Ferrari fans have great expectations from Charles Leclerc?

Sebastian Vettel joined Ferrari in 2015. The fans had high hopes for the four-time world champion. The Tifosi expected the Germans to take the sport by storm and pick another world championship anytime soon. However, in the post Hybrid era, the Mercedes were too strong to overcome.

Despite having the second-best car, Ferrari managed to win back-to-back season openers in 2017 and 2018, starting the season on a high. Unfortunately for Ferrari fans, Sebastian couldn’t bring them the most important glory. Charles joined Vettel at the Italian team in 2019 after replacing outgoing Kimi Raikkonen.

In the 2018 Australian Grand Prix, Seb managed to get the better of the F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton and triumphed in style. While Hamilton finished in P2, Seb’s teammate Kimi finished in P3.
