Charles Leclerc is also an avid gamer and often streams racing simulator games on Twitch. Clearly, he is doing a great job, because he is unbeaten after two rounds. The Ferrari driver seized victory at the Vietnam and Chinese Grands Prix. All the while, he squared off against on-track rivals like Lando Norris and Alex Albon. Leclerc even took on and defeated Esports specialists and the odd celebrity. Although many consider it as just a game, there are a few who know that there’s a lot at stake, aside from personal pride.

“There’s a lot of fun, but then there are some races where we take it quite seriously,” he said. “The official [virtual] F1 races are actually quite serious – and we all want to win.” He adds: “This is good way to stay sharp and practise with pressure. Even on a virtual game like this, I have pressure. When Alex was second and very close to me [in the fight for the lead in China], I absolutely wanted to finish first.”
