F1 drivers are known to be very superstitious in their preparation ahead of the race. While many drivers have come forward to explain their different routines before entering a car, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has always mentioned that he is not superstitious.

Leclerc mentioned he will be very good at keeping up the superstitions in his life. He denies being focused on bringing luck from outside and focuses on his performance in the car.
Last year Charles said: "I am not superstitious at all. When I was younger, I started to wear the same socks etc. but very soon I decided that I had to stop because I am very messy so I will probably forget the socks for one race."

But this season we have seen him wear the red pants on Saturdays ahead of qualifying. He has been very successful in qualifying as he has scored 6 pole positions in 8 races. But in Baku, he wore the red pants on Sunday but denied wearing them because of any superstition. He further mentioned that the red pants were team principal Mattia Binotto‘s idea.

He does not necessarily have the best luck in F1, as evident in his Monaco GP failures. But he denies blaming luck for his failures in his Monaco GP performances.

The Ferrari driver had once again taken pole position in Monaco recently. But going into the main race on Sunday about his luck and form in the principality in previous years.

“I’m not superstitious at all. We’ve had a smooth weekend until now, and we’re starting in the best place possible for tomorrow’s race. So hopefully, we have a clean race tomorrow, and we finally have a good result at home,” said Leclerc.

It is good that the Monegasque driver takes all his failures on the chin and does not blame luck and superstition for any of them. But maybe he is turning slowly by wearing his Saturday qualifying pants on Sundays.
But all his fans around the world would hope that the pants can bring him luck ahead of the race. It would be interesting to see how he navigates pole position in Baku this time. He has a very good chance to win this evening and close the gap in the championship.
