In line with modern times, F1 is trying to become more and more inclusive every year. They are slowly but surely opening doors to welcome people of all ethnicities and sexualities into the sport. With people like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and now Charles Leclerc showing support to the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Ferrari driver was recently asked to comment on an intimate scene in the upcoming movie Lightyear between two female characters. He gave a very sweet and powerful answer to the question and gave his comments on the scene.

“For me, homosexuality is a completely normal thing. I have gay friends. Love is for everyone. F1 must lend a hand to those who aren’t able to express the difficulties in everyday life,” said Leclerc, who will lend his voice in the animated movie.

Before him, his former teammate Sebastian Vettel showcased his support to the community. He stated that the sport is ready to welcome a driver from the community to the grid.

“Perhaps that wouldn’t have been the case in the past, but now I think a gay Formula One driver would be welcomed — and rightly so,” said Vettel.

The upcoming animated movie Lightyear is a part of the Toy Story world. It follows the story of the beloved character Buzz Lightyear.

The Monegasque driver is excited to lend his voice to one character in the movie. This will be a fresh experience for the Ferrari driver as he delves into the entertainment world for the first time.

“It was my first voice-acting cameo, and it was a completely different experience from what I have done in the past and it was a bit strange and much harder than I thought. It was a great ​experience, and I can’t wait to see the final result,” said the Ferrari driver.
