There are quite a lot of racing families in F1, and Charles Leclerc, too, belongs to one. His father and his godfather were both racers, and his younger brother, Arthur Leclerc, is a racecar driver as well. Charles has revealed that he is often concerned about his younger brother, who is a part of Ferrari’s junior driver program and competes in Formula 3 with Prema Racing.
It’s worth mentioning that earlier this season Arthur was involved in a high-speed crash during the F3 Austrian Grand Prix. While battling with MP Motorsport’s Victor Martins for sixth place, the young Monegasque took to the grass and lost control of his car after hitting the speed limit bollards at the end of Turn 4.

I’m more stressed when Arthur is racing: Charles
Just like any older brother, Charles is concerned about his younger sibling, even when they’re doing the same thing.
“I am 10 times more stressed whenever it’s Arthur Leclerc racing compared to when I am racing because when I have the helmet on, I don’t think about the danger of the sport,” said the older Leclerc.
“But whenever I see my little brother racing, with me watching from the outside, I start to think about all the bad scenarios that can happen.”
“Whenever he needs help, Arthur knows that I’m here for him and he can call me anytime […] but most of the time, we are just speaking about our lives, just like normal brothers will do,” added Charles.
Ferrari should not expect to fight Mercedes again this season: Charles Leclerc
Scuderia Ferrari displayed a splendid pace all weekend at British GP, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finishing the race second and fourth, respectively.
Charles led almost the entire race and showed impressive resilience to keep the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, at bay. Unfortunately, with just three laps to go, the Knight overtook him, despite suffering a 10-second penalty.
Despite securing his first podium of the season at Silverstone, Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari cannot compete with Mercedes again this season.
“Going into the weekend, there was absolutely no hope of fighting for a win here in Silverstone,” said Charles Leclerc after the race.

“Now we need to keep on working because that’s what we want to do consistently: fight for the win.”
“It’s great to be fighting today with Lewis, but we shouldn’t expect to be in that position for the rest of the year. For that, we need to keep working,” added the Monegasque.
