The silly season is always filled with changes that give us plenty of excitement for the upcoming season. No such change is touted to come to Ferrari, not in 2024, at least. We all came across the mega contract offer Leclerc was being offered by Ferrari, didn’t we? However, despite the mega multi-year $215 million offer, the Monegasque calmed the horses to focus on racing rather than the money. As it is turning out, that was the right decision from Leclerc.
.@Corriere: “2024 will be the ‘year of truth’ for vasseur, even if he confidentially vented saying he doesn’t have worthy people around.
the first mission is to convince leclerc. with facts. there is no shortage of offers for the monegasque, to lose him would be another loss.” pic.twitter.com/c92fgYyHnb

In the past couple of years alone Leclerc has suffered many heartbreaks. He has not only retired the car multiple times from the lead because of an unreliability issue but he has also lost out on race wins and important points because of his team’s strategic errors. In fact, Leclerc has made an unwanted record of not winning a race after securing pole position on 11 back-to-back occasions. However, nothing can come close to the formation lap Brazilian GP debacle and perhaps that was the final nail in the coffin.
According to a report by Corriere, the Monegasque will not make an informed decision before extending his contract with Ferrari because he would like to fight for a championship sooner rather than later. Ferrari is yet to prove they have a car and a team capable enough of fighting for the championship.

The Monegasque has, on countless occasions, always expressed his love and loyalty for the Italian team. However, he hasn’t reaped any rewards for it in return. He has only suffered heartache one after the other in all his five years with the team. Now coming to age, Leclerc does not want to waste his precious championship-winning years.
This is exactly when the mega contract rumors were in the limelight, he shifted the focus to the now and expressed his desire to get a better more competitive car. He said, “First, I’ve got a season to finish in 2023, but we can only go in another direction because at the moment the car is really difficult to drive. It’s just very, very difficult to be on the limit.”
