Carlos Sainz Jr. is still looking for a seat for 2025 and the hunt is on. His manager Carlos Oñoro Sainz is doing his best to get him the right spot and deal to continue his cousin’s career. Sergio Perez signed his extension with Red Bull and the number of seats Sainz can take is getting lower. Now it’s up to Onoro to figure out which team to get Carlos Sainz into and he needs to do it quick.

Most of the negotiation responsibilities fall on Onoro, which might stress him. While his cousin is racing on the track, he needs to keep everything in order so the Ferrari driver can focus on his season. But when he reached Canada for the GP, he shared an instance from his life where things just spun out of order and took a big yellow turn.

Now that the Canadian Grand Prix is nearing, Carlos Onoro reached Montreal to prepare for the race weekend. However, when he landed, he found it difficult to locate his ride to the hotel, and when he discovered it, he was more than surprised. The other feeling he had was excitement, as it left him with a huge smile. He shared the entire story on his Instagram profile, and here is how it goes.

In Onoro’s IG Story, he started by saying, “OK, let’s start the Canadian GP week with a big smile!!” He shared the details of his day saying, “I just landed in Montreal and had a transfer booked to go to the hotel. Couldn’t find the guy, so I gave him a call.” Cousin Sainz called his ride saying, “Hey Danny, where are you?” and the response he got was, “Just outside, the yellow one!” Now the background of the post had an image with only one thing visible in yellow, and that was a school bus.

It was a surprise but Onoro took it well and enjoyed the experience. He then shared a picture of himself alone inside the school bus, which was accidentally booked for him alone. However, in his last story, he explained what had happened, saying, “Although I would have massively enjoyed arriving in style to my hotel…It wasn’t very difficult to figure out there had been a big miscommunication!

Ultimately he decided it would be a waste to have such a big vehicle driver around just one man he said, “I quickly understood Danny (lovely human being btw) had better things to do today, so we shook hands, had a laugh and decided to take a taxi!!”

He ended by saying, “Life is too short to take it (too) seriously”. While that might sound playful and innocent to some, Carlos Sainz fans were unhappy seeing such clumsiness. Many fans took their concerns to Twitter comments as they held Onoro responsible for Carlos Sainz not being signed yet.

Fans hold Carlos Sainz’s cousin responsible for him not having a seat

Many fans blamed Carlos Onoro as Sainz could not get into Red Bull and there aren’t any talks about him going to Mercedes, either. So far the only two teams that are mainly rumored that Sainz will join are Sauber and Williams. Currently, the teams are at the bottom of the grid. This made this fan say that Carlos Sainz needed to let his cousin go and find a different manager.

Another fan spoke about doing business with family as sometimes personal emotions come in the way of getting the best results. This means that even if the Ferrari driver wanted to replace his manager, it would come at the cost of hurting a family member. This is the fan’s explanation of why combining family and business is not advisable.

A direct dig was made to Carlos Onoro’s management skill as a fan explained that if the man can’t even book a ride from the Airport, how will he manage the Ferrari driver? He stated that Onoro’s management skills will leave Sainz without a seat in 2025. Although seats are available, the options don’t look great for Sainz. So far, the best bet is only Mercedes and Toto Wolff has Kimi Antonelli waiting to take the seat. The timer is ticking before the rest of the seats fill up.

It can be said that Carlos Sainz is a child of Nepotism, having his father in the motorsport industry for years now. Carlos Sainz Sr is an established driver who has decades of experience as he still competes in rally racing. Being the son of a legendary driver can have its perks, like getting into Audi as an easy shot, but nothing is planned. While the Spaniard is doing well in races, he needs to find his new team.
