Ferrari has started the 2022 season in a blistering fashion. They are running away from the rest and are currently at the top of the standings. Formula 1 fans touted Charles Leclerc as one of the favorites to win this season’s world championship even though his teammate Carlos Sainz finished ahead of him last year.

Earlier, reports suggested Sainz was close to agreeing on a new contract, but Ferrari and Sainz are facing hurdles on the length of the contract.

Contract talks between Ferrari and Carlos Sainz witnesses a block
Carlos Sainz signed for Ferrari ahead of the 2021 season. He had a fruitful spell at McLaren, propelling them to P3 in the constructors’ championship in the 2020 season. The 27-year-old has shown consistency and reliability during his spell at Ferrari and McLaren. With good results, Sainz has earned a positive reputation and Ferrari are keen to tie him down for the future.
Several reports indicated that Ferrari and Sainz are close to reaching an agreement. However, F1 insider reports that both parties disagree on the length of the contract.
