Currently driving for Ferrari, Sainz is much closer to a world championship than ever before. He’s young, capable, and totally driven to take the Grand Prix by storm.
Carlos Sainz gunning for a home win
Carlos Sainz has been an enigma ever since he joined the Reds last year. He arguably performed better than teammate Charles Leclerc and even finished ahead of him in the 2021 championship table.
Fast forward to today, despite being unlucky twice this season, he has landed on the podium in every race that he’s finished. Moreover, we famously know the Spaniard as “Smooth Operator” for displaying maturity, calm and impeccable demeanor in an F1 car. Understandably, fans vouch for him as he is capable enough to win a world championship.
Recently acting as host for Madrid karting, to present the home Grand Prix to everyone, Sainz shared what he felt. With the primary attention focused on him, the 27-year-old Spaniard will only look for a win.
Elaborating more on that, he said, “Winning? It would be unique, because it would be the first and it would be at home, for that I work every day and I try to get there as soon as possible. The fans will want it, but the one who wants the most is me.”
Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are ahead of Sainz
Max Verstappen and Leclerc have been the main championship protagonists this year. Showcasing some top-notch tussles, they’ve looked a class apart. Sainz, on the other hand, has mostly settled for a comfortable third. However, the driver knows that it will take a lot to beat these two talents, and seems ready for it. Though they’re the biggest threats to him, Sainz is capable of snatching a win.
