Ferrari man, Carlos Sainz, didn’t have the best year in 2022. The Spaniard is well aware of his shortcomings and has been disappointed in his performance in the entire season. Looking back at how his performance graph compared to his fellow Ferrari man, Charles Leclerc, Carlos admitted to have been lacking in his efforts.
In a recent interview, Carlos didn’t shy away from expressing his disappointments. He said, “I’m not entirely satisfied with my season. I won’t lie, the start to the season has been tougher than I expected.”
He concluded, “With all the cars I’ve driven, I’ve always given my all right away. It was the first time in my career that I found myself two or three tenths off the pace: I really had to roll up my sleeves to try and figure out where those tenths were.”

The 28 year old recently made a comment on the new addition to the Ferrari family. As Fred Vasseur enters the team as team principal from the year of 2023, Carlos is excited for the new steps that the team will be executing.
Sainz has previously had interactions with Vasseur, and therefore, has the utmost confidence in what he can bring to the table.

As quoted by mirror.co.uk, Sainz shared, “I’ve heard very good things about him. I know him personally, he already wanted to sign me to go to Renault. I spoke to him yesterday, I called him and I had my first contact as a Ferrari driver. I know he’s going to do well.”
He further added, “Whenever someone new arrives, they have extra motivation, wanting to do well for themselves and for the team.”
Amid all this, he also pointed out that Ferrari is a huge undertaking. And even though Fred is good at what he does, he may need some time to adjust to the Ferrari ways. Still, Sainz is convinced that the team will eventually emerge as dominant in time.
