Carlos Sainz landed his dream contract with Ferrari earlier last season. After an impressive two seasons with McLaren, the Spaniard made his Ferrari debut with a test drive at Fiorano last week. In a recent interview, Sainz explained how this is his childhood dream come true.
The Madrid driver’s move to Ferrari meant a lot to him. “When I was 10, I went to the race in Barcelona and visited the Ferrari garage by meeting one of my greatest heroes, Michael Schumacher,” he recalled.

“The atmosphere there was really special, there was nothing like that. So joining Scuderia Ferrari means a childhood dream come true for me! But for me, wearing the red jumpsuit and riding for this suit is more than a dream,” he added.

Sainz explained that this opportunity to drive for Ferrari is a dream come true for him. It’s a matter of great honor and responsibility and something he has long waited for, he stated.

Carlos Sainz explains the brand of Ferrari
Ferrari is one of the greatest teams in Formula 1 and one of the most respected brands around the world. Sainz explained his love for the team started as a child.

“All racing drivers and fans all know what Scuderia Ferrari stands for, and even if you are not interested in motorsport, or don’t like cars, you know the brand and the red color Ferrari represents. Ferrari is such a big brand,” he further explained.

Sainz has completed six years in Formula 1 and competed with three teams in that term. He recently shared his ultimate goal with the Maranello team of winning the championship.
