Attitude is everything, says Carlos Sainz
But with characters such as Hamilton and Verstappen that have strong aggressive personalities on and off the track, can the soft-spoken Sainz be able to match them?
When asked if he needs “to roar to be world champion,” by Esquire, Sainz answered, “It can be killed perfectly silently. It’s a bit of my philosophy… to have the same aggressiveness as anyone, but also to be kind, friendly…” (Translated using Google)
“And, I don’t know, you can be calm and then you put on your helmet, and you become that person a lot more aggressive on the track.”
Another testament to Sainz’s capabilities as a driver is his adaptability. Motorsports is as much about banging in lap times as it is about having the right attitude.

Being pitted against Charles Leclerc, it is upon the Spaniard to make the team come to him. An affable personality with results on track would soon lead to Sainz being a Tifosi favorite.
This season, he has been plagued with bad luck and mechanical failures. His solitary win at the British Grand Prix, however, is a sign of things to come. Will the likable Sainz be able to match up to the likes of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton? Only time will tell.
