In an attempt to erase the memories of the bad start to the Austrian Grand Prix, both the Ferrari drivers emerged successful in the race qualifying. Where Charles Leclerc swooped up to P3, Carlos Sainz consolidated his place in P4. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris secured P1 and P2 respectively, but it was Ferrari who stood out. Absolute redemption mode!

Ferrari didn’t bring major upgrades to Spielberg; Carlos Sainz says they’re saving them for Silverstone. “The team is pushing hard to bring an upgrade that can help us in the high-speed corners in Silverstone,” the Spaniard said. In the hope to have a better racing experience at the British Grand Prix, Ferrari is already making their arrangements. What the alleged new upgrades can do will be witnessed next week.

Meanwhile, Sainz also mentions that their cars were bouncing in certain corners during the Austrian GP qualifying earlier today. He believes that both Charles and him went different ways with the car. Maybe to a greater extent, this benefitted the drivers. “We went different ways with both cars, and we both had bouncing. There are some laps that it is there and there are laps that it’s not,” Sainz further added.

Ferrari was able to maximize their performance. Considered a weak team for this weekend, they outperformed most of the grid and made it to the top five. And no doubt, the credit must go to the drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. Fred Vasseur likely used hidden tactics to play an important role in this improvement.

Carlos Sainz’s P4 and Ferrari’s comeback in the Austrian GP

Ferrari’s post-sprint changes made a difference. The cars got a lot more competitive than they were. With Carlos Sainz ending up fourth, it was Charles Leclerc who stole the spotlight. Leclerc not only redeemed himself but also ended up third in qualifying, ahead of his teammate Sainz. However, Charles’ outcome could have been better had he not lost time in Turn 6.
