McLaren might not be the best team on the grid at the moment, nor has it been in over a decade. They might not have given us the best of the moments on the grid. But they have blessed us with the duo of Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz—undoubtedly the best bromance on the grid, no matter what you say. Others will come and go, but Carlando is forever.

Most recently, the duo shared their pictures and videos from the chopper as they were flying over Albert Park, Melbourne. The Carlando Stans were blessed as smiles returned to their faces after an ominous start to the season for Norris and a decent one at best for Sainz. But that is not it.

After a week’s break in between, the drivers are returning to Australia, which is plenty of hours ahead of their bases. This caused severe jet lag for Carlos Sainz, who, on his Instagram story, explained his plan to tackle the problem. He wrote: “Manage to stay awake 2h and then sleep for 10h as I was destroyed.”

Landing in Melbourne at 7am and plan will be to stay awake all day, plenty of light exposure, maybe some golf if the weather is good and some paddling or running along the river. Past experience tells me that at 7pm I’ll be dead and wanting to go to sleep but I will try my best.”

Carlando also golfed together before taking the ride in the chopper. Fans couldn’t process such pictures, and the duo’s shenanigans left them absolutely speechless. With the duo separated by teams, the two just can’t be kept apart for long. Like the opposite poles of a magnet, they come together strongly.

Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris- friends despite the rivalry

Their friendship began when they were teammates at McLaren for the 2019 season. Despite being fierce competitors on the track, they have always shown respect and admiration for each other’s driving abilities.

Once, Norris, as quoted by Racing News 365, explained how they do so, by saying, “We still speak to each other every now and then. I guess maybe not as often or as closely as we were [in the] past couple of years. But no, we’re still mates, we still got along.” It shows how the bromance has matured and is likely to remain one of the best in the sport’s history.
