The fact that Carlos Sainz is only in his second year with Ferrari is hard to digest. The Spaniard fits in the team as well as anyone who has been there for long. Sainz left the rival McLaren’s camp to join the Maranello team back in 2021. Since then, the driver has only seen growth in his chart with consistency as the driver’s selling point.

Carlos Sainz, as a debutant with Ferrari, managed to keep scoring points. The driver, after a while, even kept ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc and finished ahead of him. While arguably Leclerc got unlucky on several occasions, Sainz’s ability to quickly adapt shouldn’t be underestimated. Leclerc, however, is making up for the past mistakes by absolutely dominating the 2022 season as of now.
Sainz, sadly, did not have the best qualifying at the Australian Grand Prix. This qualifying session was only a teaser of what’s about to come, as later the 27-year-old ran into gravel only on lap 2. This was, of course, a surprise because we usually do not see Sainz retiring from the race like this. This also brought an end to his points run with the Italian team. However, all was not lost for the Spaniard who now sits with some of the greatest names in the longest points run for Ferrari.
In among greats! 👏@Carlossainz55 saw his 17 race points streak with Ferrari end in the #AusGP, but he's still earned his place in with some of @ScuderiaFerrari's greatest driver 👀

Can Carlos Sainz be the next world champion?
Many find a future world champion in this young driver. And why not? He has consistently finished on the podium in two out of the three races in the season opener. Moreover, Carlos would’ve possibly finished on the podium once again if not for the last-minute steering wheel change and grip loss. The man is not far away from a Grand Prix win, as only his teammate Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen stand in his way.

While both his rivals arguably are performing better than him, does not mean Sainz can’t catch up. He possibly cannot find a better year to win the championship, as this is a Ferrari year! If the Spaniard manages to unlock a similar potential from the car as Leclerc has, we’re in for an intense battle between the two Ferrari boys.
We hope Sainz has the greatest year ahead because we do expect the Spaniard to win the championship at some point.
