Carlos Sainz will miss the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix only a week after the ‘track-blazing’ performance at Bahrain GP. When the circus entered the second round of 2024, Sainz came with the hope of extending his lead in the non-Red Bull championship. Alas! the universe had something else in its mind. Due to deteriorating health, Sainz is not going to race, but how exactly is his health?

Sainz was diagnosed with a case of appendicitis and was ruled out of the first street race. This paved the way for a budding prodigy and Ferrari Academy’s superstar driver, Ollie Bearman, to make his F1 debut. But amidst all of this, Sainz, who described his condition on Thursday as “one of my toughest days in a Formula 1 car,” is not very well.

According to Spanish media outlet DAZN, Sainz doesn’t look so good. As per reports, “In person, he doesn’t look so good, he has a fever and stomach issues (…) he hasn’t eaten anything since yesterday”

Giving fun statistics, Scuderia Ferrari welcomed the 776th Formula 1 driver and 97th Ferrari driver to the grid. While Alex Albon joked about knowing a good doctor, Sainz’s team wished a speedy recovery for him.

Scuderia Ferrari on X updated the world with this news. The statement read, “Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery. As from FP3 and for the rest of this weekend, he will be replaced by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oliver will therefore take no further part in this round of the F2 Championship. The Ferrari family wishes Carlos a speedy recovery.”
