Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsport. The drivers drive some of the fastest cars in the world at around 200 mph every race, which is physically demanding. They need to be physically fit to cope with the G-forces that they endure. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz is one of the fittest drivers on the grid.
Sainz recently uploaded a video on his channel, updating his fans about his pre-season training.

When a fan asked him about his diet, the Ferrari driver gave a detailed answer on what he consumes in a day.

Carlos Sainz reveals his diet during the Pre-season training
The Spaniard mentioned he eats a lot of protein and tries to avoid carbs and fat as much as possible. It is fascinating to hear an F1 driver reveal his diet, as fans do not really know how the drivers maintain themselves.
” So my diet basically consists in trying to get over a 100 grams of protein a day. Normally I try to get to 130-140 grams that is double my weight, so if I weigh 70kg, double of that protein is 140.

” I know that I am not going to be hungry during my training because protein is there. Then I’m going to be a bit more restrictive. My body will not crave carbohydrates and fat as much as it does normally because I crave a lot of carbs and fat.
If I manage to get that protein level up, then the other is a lot easier. When I’m in a bulk, I normally try and eat between 2500-3000 calories, and when I’m in a cut, below that. I know that more or less my normal calorie intake a day is 2500, “ said Carlos.

Well, it is intriguing to hear the diet plan of a world-class driver, which really emphasizes the impact of a balanced diet. It looks like the Ferrari driver might be in the best shape of his career. The diet is an important step for him to take the next step to become the best driver on the grid in 2022.
