Carlos Sainz is moving to his dream team this season. The Spaniard signed a two-year contract with Ferrari and will drive alongside Charles Leclerc at the Maranello team. The dynamic between teammates significantly affects a team’s performance, and thus, Sainz hopes to forge a good relationship with the Monegasque.
In a Formula 1 team, your teammate is also your closest rival. Therefore, sometimes the relationships between the teammates could turn sour. However, Sainz explained the advantages of a good relationship with the teammate and hopes to replicate the same at Ferrari.

He said, “It makes the working environment and the team a lot less under pressure. It just makes everyone’s life a lot easier, and the team can move forward a lot quicker and in a better way.”

Carlos Sainz on advantages of a good relationship with teammate
Carlos Sainz had a beautiful relationship with his previous teammate, Lando Norris. The pair enjoyed an open and successful partnership on and off the track. The result was visible on the championship standings as the pair helped McLaren finish P3 last season.

The Spaniard explains the current relationship with his Ferrari teammate.
“I would lie if I said I’ve not talked to Charles. I am paying attention that what happens over there, and asking him questions now and then. My relationship with Charles actually is very good. I expect to get on well with him in the future.”

Carlos Sainz is under a lot of pressure going into Ferrari next season. If he’s able to cultivate a healthy relationship with Leclerc, that will help him get more comfortable at the team and help him understand the car much better.
