“I don’t know my next team yet,” said Sainz at a recent press conference as reported by FormulaPassion, “I have some time to decide which one it is.” The Smooth Operator explained, “As I said previously, there are many options. We will make this decision in the coming months. I think I said I wanted to sort out my future before the first race, but now the scenario has changed a lot, as you can imagine.”
Giving the community more insight into his decision, Sainz added, “I think the process will be longer, but I can rest assured that when I make the decision I will have given myself enough time and enough information.” With the Spaniard leaving the team, and Ferrari pushing Charles Leclerc as their primary driver for the season, he believes the task at hand will be difficult.
Sainz answered a question that he brought up, “Can the discussions about the new team influence the work on the track? I believe it is absolutely impossible to separate one thing from the other, but my goal from now on will be to do well in Bahrain without managing the season.” It will be a tough season for Sainz as he will have a lot on his plate. From concentrating on his current season to securing a good seat for 2025, he has a lot to figure out as the Lewis Hamilton move to Ferrari came early, but suddenly.
It would be fair to think that Carlos Sainz has a guaranteed seat in almost all the teams going by his skill level. Sainz does come with a lot of knowledge about how Ferrari works, and that information could be valuable for some teams.
Which team will Sainz sign for?
Many teams will have their seats open after the 2024 season. There will be some shuffling around with teams like Red Bull, Mercedes, Alpine, Williams, Visa Cash App RB, Sauber and Haas having open spots. Carlos Sainz will be one of the top drivers all the teams will be looking out for.

Being a driver from the top 3 sports teams, the two best options would be Mercedes or Red Bull to have a competitive car. The other teams aren’t great prospects as they all ended up in the lower mid-field or last place in 2023. But that doesn’t say much about how they will perform in 2024 or 2025.
